In our experience, Slaughterball plays best with 2 or 4 players. Slaughterball is a dice rolling, sports minis game for 2-4 players that takes about 45-60 minutes to play. Players will coach one of four teams, striving for maximum carnage and conquest. Slaughterball takes place in the distant future where genetically engineered neohumans take the field to score points and assault their opponents. However, new publisher Frog the What Games may have finally brought us a sports game that not only feels like I’m playing a sport game, but also is very easy to jump in and start playing. Either they are abstract representations ( Blood Bowl: Team Manager), or complicated affairs that will push away all but the most dedicated of players ( Blood Bowl). While we’ve had plenty of sports games offered to us, with varying degrees of success, they usually boil down into one of two categories. In addition to these features, you’ll find team upgrades for every team, fourteen staff upgrades, Spike! Magazine cards, and all the materials you need to play Blood Bowl: Team Manager with 5 players. In the realm of tabletop gaming, sports games have always been an under-appreciated genre. These stadiums can bring in extra fans, but some of them have highly peculiar rules that you’ll be forced to obey. Another addition from this expansion is ten different Blood Bowl stadiums. Thankfully, a thoroughly corrupt ref will be walking the field as well, moving from matchup to matchup and helping you and your team cheat your way to victory. In an effort to crack down on rampant cheating, Blood Bowl officials have begun dealing out penalties. There’s more than just new teams in this expansion, however. Whether you’re managing goblins, Chaos Dwarfs, or the abominations of Nurgle, you’ll find plenty of sneaky tricks and deliberate fouls. The Blood Bowl tournament season heats up with the addition of the Foul Play expansion to Blood Bowl: Team Manager – The Card Game ! The Putrid Players’ Guild has joined the Team Managers’ Union, bringing along three new teams eager to try their might and skill in the Blood Bowl, along with plenty of Star Players.
